About Elena

Elena Hogan is an emerging writer, artist and photographer working on unceded Wurundjeri land. Since 2021, Elena has been developing and writing her debut novel, Everything Before Gia. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in 2022 at the University of Melbourne majoring in English Literature and Creative Writing. Elena has been published by Farrago, Voiceworks, the Emerging Writers Festival and Regional Arts Australia.

Elena also undertook one year of Visual Arts at the VCA, specialising in photography, where she was offered the opportunity to curate an exhibition in the Student Gallery.

Elena has over eight years of photographic experience.

Her photographic work ranges from professional portraits and production stills to hospitality and cultural events. With the exception of tripods, Elena prefers working spontaneously without professional studio or lighting equipment. She is skilled with both digital and analogue formats.
